Waspi women accuse Starmer of misleading public over numbers who knew of pension age change
Women born in the 1950s have said they were not given sufficient notice the pension age was rising from 60 to 65 in the 2010s, with an ombudsman recommending they receive up to £2,950 in compensation.
The government revealed on Tuesday it would not be compensating millions of women born in the 1950s – called Waspi women – who say they were not given sufficient warning of the state pension age for women being lifted from 60 to 65.
Sir Keir using the 90% figure “isn’t just misleading, it’s an insult to millions of 1950s-born women who were blindsided by these changes”,” she added.
So, what I would like to know – why does this Government and the last – see fit to pay Windrush – people from another country, Grenfell – some were not even in the building – £tens of thousands in Compensation – #PostOffice – yet British women – get diddly squat!
Are British women NOT worthy of anything – have we not earned our Pension – let’s face it – many women have been betrayed in Divorce settlements and again lost out on Pensions..
Women are the back bone of most societies, yet treated like dirt – like we do not matter, well i hope that every man – young or old, that has a Mother – Aunt – Grandmother, Sister, Niece that is losing out – makes a lot of NOISE!! Or maybe every woman MUST STRIKE for 2 days or more !!
What will happen to so many of these women – there will be many that will take their own lives, I hope YOU can live with that Prime Minister!
